چکیده
We present an improved background model for the Large Area X-ray Proportional Counter (LAXPC) detectors on-board AstroSat. Because of large collecting area and high pressure, LAXPC instrument has a count rate, which varies during orbit. Apart from variation with latitude longitude orbit there is prominent quasi-diurnal not been modelled earlier. Using over 5 years observations, we determined period to be 84495 s using this period, it possible account also identify time intervals where fit good. These lead significant improvement in model. Modelling instrument background for CCD x-ray spectrometers in space
The European Space Agency (ESA) X-ray Evolving Universe Spectroscopy (XEUS) mission is designed as a follow-on to the ESA X-ray Multi Mirror (XMM-Newton) mission and may contain charge-coupled device (CCD) based instrumentation. Low instrument background is essential for the mission to maximise sensitivity. Results from XMM-Newton and the Japanese Space Agency Suzaku mission show that both the ...
متن کاملBeyond the standard model for the cosmic X–ray background
The synthesis model for the cosmic X–ray background (XRB) –based on the integrated emission of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGNs)– is complemented with new observational results. We adopt the most recent estimates of the AGN X–ray luminosity function and evolution. We adopt the column density distribution of type 2 AGNs observed in the local Universe, instead of describing it as a set of free parame...
متن کاملCosmic-Ray Background Flux Model based on a Gamma-Ray Large-Area Space Telescope Balloon Flight Engineering Model
Cosmic-ray background fluxes were modeled based on existing measurements and theories and are presented here. The model, originally developed for the Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST) Balloon Experiment, covers the entire solid angle (4π sr), the sensitive energy range of the instrument (∼ 10 MeV to 100 GeV) and abundant components (proton, alpha, e−, e, μ−, μ and gamma). It is expre...
متن کاملHILT: a heavy ion large area proportional counter telescope for solar and anomalous cosmic rays
The HILT sensor has been designed to measure heavy ion elemental abundances, energy spectra, and direction of incidence in the mass range from helium to iron and in the energy range 4 to 250 MeV/nucleou. With its large geometric factor of 60 cm’sr the sensor is optimized to provide compositional and spectral measurements for low intensity cosmic rays, Le. for small solar energetic particle even...
